WWP Sees Four Named To ACWPC Academic All-America Team
Pacific Women's Water Polo saw four of its student-athletes named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Academic All-America team, announced by the organization Tuesday, July 10.
Martin and Prlain received Superior recognition, given to those student-athletes with GPA's between 3.70 and 3.41. Kay and Relton received Excellent recognition, presented to those student-athletes with GPA's between 3.40 and 3.20.
The four were also named to the 2012 Big West All-Academic team.
As a team, Pacific finished the 2011-12 academic year with a 3.060 GPA, ranking 18th in the nation.
Over 250 student-athletes qualified for this year's all-academic team, one of the largest fields in the organization's history. The Big West saw 21 of its student-athletes named to the team.
To be selected to the ACWPC Academic All-America team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and must have competed in at least 50-percent of their team's matches during the past season.To see the complete list of honorees, click here.
