Clinton Global Initiative University -- Information Session for Interested Participants for 2013

Nov 16, 2012

The Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship is seeking students from multiple majors, programs, and activities to attend the 2013 Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U). CGI U is a great opportunity for Pacific's student leaders to be challenged, network, and address the needs of our community, country and the world.

The Center will be hosting an informational session on the application process and the program on November 19, at 6 pm in DeRosa University Center, Room 211B. Applications are due December 14. If you know of students interested in participating, please encourage them to attend the info session.

For those unable to attend, applications and more information are available by emailing cusepacific@gmail.com

About CGI U
President Clinton launched CGI U in 2007 to engage the next generation of leaders on college campuses around the world to take action on global challenges. Each year, CGI U hosts a meeting bringing together students, youth organizations, topic experts, and celebrities to work to make a difference in CGI U's five focus areas: Education, Environment and Climate Change, Peace and Human Rights, Poverty Alleviation, and Public Health. CGI U 2013 will be held at Washington University in St. Louis from April 5 - 7.

Students and youth organizations develop their own Commitments to Action: a specific plan of action that addresses a pressing challenge on campus, in the community, or around the world. Commitments range from manufacturing wheelchairs for developing countries to establishing campus bike share programs, from creating free vision clinics to mentoring youth through chess. CGI U is proof that young people have the power to make a significant impact by confronting some of the world's most urgent challenges.
