Nominations for the Martin Luther King Jr Peace and Justice Awards

The Martin Luther King Jr. Peace and Justice Awards Dinner honors members of the Pacific and San Joaquin communities who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to social justice and equality. The committee invites you to nominate anybody who you feel is an excellent candidate for this award. All members of the Pacific and San Joaquin County communities are eligible. Nominations are due by December 14.

The award categories are:

  • Pacific Student - Undergraduate and Graduate University of the Pacific students
  • Pacific Staff - Staff at the University of the Pacific
  • Pacific Faculty - Members of faculty at the University of the Pacific
  • Pacific Alumni - University of the Pacific Alumni advocating for social justice in our community
  • San Joaquin Community - Advocates in the San Joaquin County beyond the University of the Pacific
  • San Joaquin Young Advocate - Teenage advocates who have shown a passion for social justice in high schools

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Peace & Justice Awards Dinner will be held Monday, Jan. 22, 2013, from 6 to 7:30 pm in the Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House. Tickets are $12 general admission and $6 for students and can be purchased at the DeRosa Center front desk.
