Planned power outages for December 26 and 27 on Stockton Campus
During the holiday break the University will shut off power to conduct routine maintenance. Power throughout most of the Stockton campus will be affected from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on December 26 and a partial outage will take place on December 27 during the same time frame. All employees and students are reminded to unplug their computer and fax machines as well as take a number of other steps outlined below in advance of the power outages.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO MINIMIZE ANY INCONVENIENCE DURING AN ELECTRICAL SERVICE INTERRUPTION:
Computers and other electronic equipment are particularly sensitive to electric power outages. We recommend unplugging this equipment before the outage period. Cordless phones will not operate during an electrical power outage. Have on hand battery-powered flashlights with fresh batteries. Food safety: During any outage, keep the doors of your refrigerator and freezer closed to help keep food fresh. The U.S. Department of Agriculture states that your freezer should keep food frozen for at least 24 hours, and that the refrigerated food should stay safe for up to four hours. If the outage is expected to last longer, you should take additional measures now to prepare. This includes filling a few empty liter-size plastic bottles with water and freezing them, putting them in the refrigerator the day of the outage to keep food cool. As always, before you prepare or eat food that was refrigerated or frozen, check it carefully for signs of spoilage. More information can be found at http://www.fsis.usda.gov.
CANCELLATION OF WORK AT THE LAST MINUTE COULD OCCUR. THIS WOULD OCCUR DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS OR AN UNRELATED EMERGENCY. IN SUCH AN EVENT, EVERY EFFORT WILL BE MADE TO NOTIFY THE CAMPUS COMMUNITY.
