Email Service Degradation the weekend of 9/8/2012
In order to resolve the underlying issues with email system performance, OIT will move 1,300 mailboxes to a new database during this weekend (9/8/2012-9/9/2012). Users mailbox that have been identified as part of this group will be unable to access their email for approximately ten minutes as it is being moved. There is a chance that we will not be able to move all the mailboxes during this weekend. Users will be notified by Monday morning of the move status for their mailbox.
In addition, users of Blackberry device with affected mailboxes may not be able to synchronize email until the Blackberry server is restarted. Blackberry restarts are scheduled for 10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday night.
