Expanding Your Horizons Volunteers Needed

Sep 19, 2012

The Annual San Joaquin Expanding Your Horizons conference returns to Pacific's Stockton campus on Saturday, October 6. The goal of the conference is to introduce young women in grades 6-12 to a variety of exciting careers and encourage their interest in mathematics and science. More than 500 participants from San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties are expected to attend the event, which is co-sponsored by Pacific's School of Engineering and Computer Science, Lawrence Livermore National Security LLC, and Sandia National Laboratories.

The conference runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes three hands-on workshops and a presentation by keynote speaker, Elizabeth Ponder from BIO Ventures for Global Health.

It takes many volunteers to put on this event, including helping with set-up, registration, serving food and the many other activities. To find out more or to volunteer, contact Deborah Burdick at 209.946.2152 or dburdick@pacific.edu, or complete online volunteer or registration form online at http://sjeyh.org
