Sep 5, 2012

Head coach Ed Sprague named Antonio Padilla Director of Baseball Operations Wednesday. The 2009 graduate of Pacific has spent that last two seasons working in professional baseball.

"We're excited to have Antonio back," head coach Ed Sprague said. "We think he'll be the perfect complement to our new video analysis system. He brings professional experience on the video side and a professionalism you see out of all Pacific graduates."

"It feels really good to be back on the Pacific campus working with the baseball team again," Padilla said. "I feel honored to be joining such a great coaching staff and I look forward to working the team and helping them achieve a successful season ahead of us. This coaching staff is really excited about the team we will putting on the field this year which in turn makes me excited as well."

Padilla graduated in 2009 with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in  Business Management. He spent the 2009 baseball season as the Video Analysis Intern for the baseball program.

Following graduation, Padilla joined the Boston Red Sox organization. In 2010, he served as Minor League Video Intern, coordinating video for Class-A Greenville, supplying video breakdowns of Red Sox prospects to the Boston front office. In 2011, Padilla took a similar position with the Milwaukee Brewers organization, and was assigned to Double-A Huntsville.

He will bring his expertise in the field of video analysis to the Tigers program as Pacific revamps its video operations.
