Three Pacific Athletics Administrators Earn Promotion

University of the Pacific Vice President for External Relations and Athletics Ted Leland announced the promotion of three senior administraion staff members in athletics. Mike Dalgety was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Affairs, while Georgia Kovich-Lee was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing & Promotions and Wes Yourth was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations.

"We are very pleased to promote Mike, Georgia and Wes to positions that reflect their importance to Pacific Athletics," said Leland. "They have each shown the professionalism and work ethic each day that represents the University's mission."

In his 14th overall year with the Tigers, Mike Dalgety was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Affairs. Dalgety is responsible for the day-to-day business and financial operations within Pacific athletics. Before taking over Internal Affairs, Dalgety handled a number of critical compliance areas as Director of Compliance from 2006-08. Prior to taking over Compliance for the Tigers, Dalgety served as the Associate Director of Athletic Media Relations from 1998-2000 and from 2002-05. Dalgety's service to Pacific was interrupted as he left Pacific for academic pursuits in both 2000 and 2005. He completed his Master's degree in library science from the University of Arizona in 2003. Dalgety earned his bachelor's degree in sport sciences from Pacific in 1997 and completed his doctorate in higher education administration at Pacific in May 2012.

Georgia Kovich-Lee enters her sixth year at the helm of the Tigers' marketing and promotions department. As Director of Marketing, she has been  responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans and in-game promotions for Pacific athletic events. She came to Pacific from Oregon State, where she served as assistant marketing director from 2000-02. She previously served as the director of marketing at University of Texas-Pan American from 1997-2000. She also has prior experience as director of media services at UTPA and as sports information director at Roanoke College in Salem, Va. She earned her master's degree in recreation and sport management from Penn State in 1995.

Yourth was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations after serving as the Tigers Supervisor of Facilities and Operations since the fall of 2010. He had spent the previous four season as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Tigers' baseball team (2007-2010). Prior to coming to Pacific, he was an assistant coach and program instructor at Laney College in Oakland, Calif. and City College of San Francisco. A former collegiate baseball player at City College and Hillsdale College in Michigan, Yourth enters his sixth season with Pacific athletics.
