Tiger Thursday With Ted Leland for April 18, 2013

Apr 18, 2013

SAND VOLLEYBALL

Playing at home for the first time in program history on Sunday, April 14, the Pacific Sand Volleyball team did not disappoint the home fans as the Tigers took home a pair of victories as they beat Santa Clara, 3-2, and defeated California 4-1.  The Tigers will be back in action at their home courts on Saturday, April 20 at 9 a.m. as they take on Saint Mary's.

PACIFIC BASEBALL WELCOMES UC IRVINE

Pacific Baseball will play host to UC Irvine in a three-game series opening Friday, April 19 at 6 p.m.  Game two will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday with first pitch for Sunday's Salute the Troops game at 1 p.m.  We are still accepting game-day suite rental reservations for the remaining Pacific Baseball home games.  For more information, visit PacificTigers.com or contact Sarah at 209-946-2718.

PAF FUND DRIVE KICK-OFF SET FOR APRIL 22

The PAF Fund Drive Kick-Off is set for Monday, April 22 at the Vereschagin Alumni House with Ron Verlin and Lynne Roberts as the guest speakers.  The PAF provides great benefits such as the right-to-buy the best season tickets for Men's Basketball home games, including our new slate of West Coast Conference opponents.  In addition, PAF members at the $2,000 level will also be guaranteed the right to purchase tickets for the WCC Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas in March 2014.  It's good business to join the PAF - enjoy the opportunity to network at PAF Hospitalities while supporting our student athletes.

HONORS AND AWARDS

Pacific freshman tennis player Hana Ritterova notched two singles wins and split in doubles to be selected as the Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week.  Ritterova picked up one of two Tiger points in a 5-2 loss to northern California rival UC Davis in a Big West match on Friday.  She won 6-2, 6-2 over Aggie opponent Layla Sanders at the No. 2 spot on the ladder.

For the third time in as many seasons, Pacific Men's Volleyball's Javier Caceres has been named to the All-MPSF team.  Caceres led the MPSF in digs per set after totaling 286 digs in 105 sets to average 2.72 per game.  The libero was one of only two players at his position to be honored by the conference.
