Reminder - Deadlines for Faculty Awards Nominations
Nominations for the Order of Pacific and the United Methodist Teacher/Scholar of the Year are due early in the new year.
Order of Pacific
This award was established by the Board of Regents in 1952 and is the highest award the University can give. It is intended to honor members of the University regents, faculty, administration and staff who have given distinguished service and made outstanding contributions to the University over a significant number of years. It is awarded to express the University's esteem and appreciation for the recipient's dedication to the University. The award recognizes an individual's career of achievements and is awarded at the termination of a person's direct connection to the University. To be considered, nominees will usually have a minimum of 15 years of service to the University.
Nominations for the Order of Pacific are due to the Office of the President no later than Wednesday, January 22, to the attention of the University Awards Committee. Download additional information and submission guidelines>>

The University Scholar/Teacher of the Year, Division of Higher Education of the board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church
Through the generosity of the United Methodist Board of Higher Education and Ministry the University Scholar/Teacher of the Year Award is available to faculty of the University of the Pacific. The award is an unrestricted stipend which goes directly to the recipient. In keeping with the Pacific tradition, an awardee is expected to exhibit a combination of achievement in scholarship and teaching.
Nominations are solicited for the United Methodist Scholar/Teacher award which provides a stipend of $2,000. The selection criteria include: demonstration of exceptional teaching; recognized concern for students and colleagues and sensitivity to the mission of the church-related university; a record of significant contributions to the scholarly life of the university and; commitment to high standards of professional and personal life.
