University of the Pacific men's basketball team hosts Saint Mary's on Monday, Dec. 30, as the Tigers make their official return to the West Coast Conference. The game will be televised by Comcast Sportsnet California, Root Sports and TheW.tv.
Pacific is 9-2 after splitting a pair of games at the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic on Dec. 20 and 21. The Tigers dropped an 83-58 contest to Princeton and came back with a 71-55 win over Bradley the next night. Freshman T.J. Wallace was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 12.0 points per game. The Tigers are ranked No. 13 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major top 25 poll. Senior Andrew Bock leads the team with 11.6 points per game, while senior Khalil Kelley is averaging a team-best 5.5 rebounds per game.
Saint Mary's is 9-3 on the season, after dropping three straight games at the Diamond Head Classic in Hawai'i last week. Brad Waldow leads the Gaels with 17.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Pacific trails the all-time series with Saint Mary's 63-42, with the teams splitting a pair of meetings last year. The Tigers trail the series 32-19 in Stockton.
