The 2013 Henry and Carol Zeiter Piano Competition took place on January 12th in the Conservatory of Music's Recital Hall on the Stockton campus of University of the Pacific. A select number of high school pianists from California were invited to compete as finalists after an initial selection done by a jury for the competition.

Four contestants were chosen to play in master classes the day of the event and each received $100.  Those contestants were Elaine Lee of Los Altos Hills, a sophomore and student of John McCarthy; Yu-Tang Josh Lin of Fremont, a senior and student of Jed Galant; Catherine Xu of San Jose, a junior and student of John McCarthy; and Michael Ko, a freshman from San Jose, and a student of Jennifer Hung.
