March Madness Comes to Pacific
Our Pacific Tigers made us so proud over the weekend. It was a thrill to be there to see it all in person.
We are over the moon about our men's basketball team, which won the Big West championship and will be going on to the NCAA Tournament! I thank the players, Coach Bob Thomason, and the assistant coaches for their extraordinary work. Thank you, too, to our wonderful fans whose enthusiasm helped our Tigers excel.
Our women's basketball team also capped off an incredible season with strong championship play. Congratulations to our players, Coach Lynne Roberts, her assistant coaches and all the fans for the team's first Big West regular season title. We are still waiting to hear what the women's post-season play will be - stay tuned.
In celebration of our Tigers, I am declaring this week Tiger Spirit Week. Let's have a sea of orange and black on our campuses as we get ready for Friday's big game against the University of Miami!
What a week at Pacific - from our Brubeck Festival, to former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit on Thursday, to the Big Dance on Friday - I am so proud of our remarkable University!
