Pacific Women's Hoops To Host Utah Thursday in WNIT Sweet 16

The Pacific women's basketball team will play host to Utah in the third round of the WNIT. The Tigers face the Utes at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Alex G. Spanos Center.

Pacific (27-7) will face a second-straight Pac-12 team in the WNIT, after the Tigers advanced to the third round with a 85-78 road win at Washington on Sunday.

Utah (20-13) downed San Diego at home on Monday, 61-50, in their second round matchup. The Utes posted a 56-49 win over Big West foe Long Beach State in the first round.

The Tigers picked up a pair of regular season victories over Long Beach State in Big West conference play this season, 59-53, at Long Beach and 69-53 at home.

Pacific is 1-2 all-time against Utah, 1-0 at home in the Alex G. Spanos Center. The 68-62 victory came in the last meeting between the two teams, on Dec 28, 2001.

The winner of Pacific-Utah will face the winner of BYU-Saint Mary's in the WNIT quarterfinals.
