May 15, 2013

Five current students and recent alumni of the Conservatory of Music have been accepted to the prestigious new Orchestra Institute at Napa Valley's Summer Festival in 2013.

The students who have been so honored include: from Igor Veligan's violin studio, Darren Chan '13, Annaliese Ippolito '13, and Melissa McGlumphy '16 and from Nina Flyer's cello studio, Caroline Chien '14 and Erik Urbina '11.

The Orchestra members will be conducted by San Francisco Ballet Music Director and Principal Conductor Martin West.  While attending the festival they will also work with members of the Russian National Orchestra and Festival Del Sole guest artists.

We are proud to see so many of our current and former students selected to participate in such an amazing festival.  Thanks go out to our dedicated faculty who continue to support and encourage these talented young musicians.
