Erdelyi, Hungary reach World University Games Final
Senior Balazs Erdelyi and Hungary have advanced to the final of the men's water polo tournament at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia. Hungary will play host Russia on Wednesday after dispatching Italy 11-9 in the semifinal round on Monday at Burevestnik Swimming Pool. Erdelyi scored two goals in the semifinal contest.
Erdelyi, who was named the 2013 Cutino Award winner, bestowed annually to the most outstanding collegiate water polo player as voted by NCAA Division I coaches, has 11 goals for Hungary in seven matches, including preliminary rounds, the quarterfinal and the semifinal.
