Pacific Baseball Team Earns Big West Sportsmanship Award

Jun 4, 2013

The Pacific baseball team was recognized by the Big West Tuesday as the Tigers were named a Spring Sportsmanship Award Winner, as announced by the conference office.

The Sportsmanship Award is presented to each of the league's 16 championship sports and is given to the program that best demonstrates excellent conduct in competition. The award is voted upon by the respective student-athletes in each of the sports.

Pacific earned the award in the final year of Big West competition, as the Tigers will join the West Coast Conference next season. The Tigers finished the 2013 season 15-39 overall, and 7-20 in BWC play. Pacific posted three wins over nationally ranked opponents, including No. 2 Arkansas, and three wins over NCAA Tournament Regional teams.
