Pacific Women's Soccer Hosts Drake And Iowa This Weekend

The Pacific women's soccer team opens the 2013 home regular season with a match against Drake on Friday, Aug. 30 at Knoles Field. The two teams will meet at 7:30 p.m. (PST). The match is preceded by a match between Iowa and UC Davis at 4:30 p.m. Pacific will then host Iowa on Sunday, Sept. 1 for a 11:00 a.m. match.
"We're excited about this weekend," said Head Coach Keith Coleman. "It gives us an opportunity to play two home games against quality opponents and work on coming together as a team."
Pacific (0-2) looks to turn things around after dropping matches at Missouri and Kansas last weekend. Senior Maricela Padilla scored Pacific's lone goal on the weekend, assisted by freshman Alex Hussar.
Drake (0-2) dropped two matches last weekend, with a 1-0 loss to Iowa in their opener and a 4-1 loss to Southern Illinois on Sunday. Paige Dusek sccored the Bulldogs' only goal of the weekend.
Iowa won both matches last weekend to start out 2-0 on the season. The Hawkeyes won a 1-0 match at Drake on Aug. 23 and a home match over Western Michigan (3-1) on Aug. 25. Melanie Pickert leads the Hawkeyes with two goals on the season.
