Erdelyi Leads Hungary To Gold At The World University Games
Leading his home country to the finals of the World University Games, 2013 Cutino Award winner Balazs Erdelyi finished the job on Wednesday, July 17, as he led Hungary past Russia for the gold medal. The Hungarians took a 5-4 win over the host Russians in the finals of the games to secure the top spot in the world.



Alex Hussar Earns Elite Soccer Report All-America Honors
Pacific Women's Soccer 2013 signee Alex Hussar has been named an Elite Soccer Report Second Team All-American. She earned All-America honors on the ESR Winter team after an outstanding 2013 season at Capistrano Valley High School. She will enter Pacific in August as a freshman.

Sugimoto On Fire At The Public Links Championships
Earning the No. 3 seed in match play at the 88th U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, junior standout Eric Sugimoto won his first two match up in run away fashion to move on to the round of 16. Sugimoto is pushing his way towards the finals as one of the top seeds in the 64-player tournament as he looks for a berth into the 2014 Masters.

Verbeek, Diaz Notch Victories In Summer Tournaments
Sophomore Sem Verbeek has kept busy this summer, winning the Joy Jaagpad 2013 open tournament in Amsterdam. The native of the Netherlands dispatched Remi van Gent 6-1, 6-1 in the final round to claim the tournament championship. 
Stateside, incoming Freshman Miguel Diaz won the 2012 WildCard tournament for the USTA Seascape Challenger. Diaz will begin the qualifying round for his first ever ATP event on August 3rd and 4th in Aptos, California.

Obert Named To Senior National Team For 2013 FINA World Championship
Pacific junior Alex Obert has earned a spot on the USA Water Polo Men's Senior National Team roster for the 2013 FINA World Championship, head coach Dejan Udovicic announced Monday.  The 13-man roster is made up entirely of former and current MPSF players and features six Olympians. Obert and his teammates will open competition Monday in a Four Nations tournament in Belgrade, Serbia before traveling to Barcelona, Spain to open their FINA World Championship quest against Croatia on July 22nd.

Tigers Back On Campus Preparing For The New Year
With the 2013-14 season just around the corner, the Tigers are starting to make their way back to campus to prepare for the upcoming season. Women's Volleyball, as well as both basketball teams have their full returning rosters back on campus as the Tigers take part in open gyms and weights. The new season for all the Tigers officially begins on Aug. 15 when women's soccer plays Grand Canyon in exhibition action.
