Tigers Battle To 0-0 Draw With Grand Canyon In Exhibition Contest

Aug 16, 2013

The Pacific women's soccer team opened its 2013 exhibition season with a 0-0 draw against Grand Canyon on Thursday, Aug. 15 at Knoles Soccer Field.

"I think it was a good start, we possessed the ball really well," said Head Coach Keith Coleman. "We were able to switch the point of attack as we went through the game and we had opportunities that fell just short. For our first scrimmage, overall it was a good night."

The Tigers held possession on the offensive side of the field a majority of the match, and had an 11-4 shot advantage over the Antelopes. Senior Maricela Padilla had six of Pacific's shots, with a couple of near misses. The Tigers also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks, but committed 16 fouls compared to six by the Antelopes.

The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, August 23 when they travel to take on Missouri in the season opener at 4:30 p.m. (PST).
