Pacific Field Hockey's Tregoning Named To All-Region Team
Emily Tregoning was named a Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region Second Team selection, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced today. The honor is the first for a Pacific player since Vianney Campos took home All-America honors following the 2006 season. Stanford and Pacific were the only two NorPac West teams with honorees to the All-Region teams in 2013.
The All-Region selection is yet another accolade for Tregoning, who has been named to three straight All-NorPac West squads and was named co-captain by vote of her teammates before the 2013 campaign.
Tregoning had her best year as a senior, starting all of the Tigers's contests while recording eight goals and four assists, for a total of 20 points. The midfielder from San Jose, Calif. was a stalwart on offense for the Tigers, scoring against every NorPac West opponent and recording goals in five straight games from September 29th to October 18th.
Tregoning's signature performance of the season came against NorPac West rival UC Davis, as she recorded two goals in the second half, including the game winner, to best the Aggies. Following the triumph, she was named NorPac West Offensive Player of the Week.
Head coach Andy Smith said of the honor "This is a fitting award for a wonderful player. It's a great way to end a career getting the plaudits she deserves."
The award caps Tregoning's illustrious career at Pacific, which includes 12 goals and ten assists in 73 games.
