Pacific Women's Hoops Hosts Notre Dame de Namur Saturday at 2 p.m.
University of the Pacific women's basketball team looks to remain unbeaten at home as the Tigers welcome Notre Dame de Namur to the Alex G. Spanos Center 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Tigers (3-2) have won all three home games this season, and are coming off a 75-66 win over Arizona last Saturday. Senior KiKi Moore handed out five assists to go with 17 points, Madison Parrish added a career-high tying 17 points, and Kendall Kenyon posted her third double-double of the year with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the contest.
Pacific downed a Pac-12 opponent for the third-straight season by outscoring the Wildcats 46-37 in the second half after falling behind by as many as 13 in the first half.
Kenyon leads Pacific with 17.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game this season, while Moore (13.2) and Parrish (11.4) give the Tigers three players averaging double-figure scoring. Erin Butler (8.6 points per game) is shooting 48 percent from behind the three-point arc, at 13-of-27 for the season, while Sam Pettinger (5.8 PPG) has hit 13-of-26 field goals this season. Marjorie Heard adds 5.2 potions and 6.0 rebound per game, shooting 46 percent (11-of-24) in an average of just 14 minutes per game. Heard came off the bench in the Tigers first four games, but started last time out against Arizona. However, she found herself in foul trouble early and played just nine minutes.
Notre Dame de Namur, a Division II team from Belmont, California, enters at 1-5 on the season. Games against Division I opponents do not count in D-II, and the Argonauts will be facing a D-I team for the second time, after falling to Fresno State earlier this season.
The Argonauts are led by Jennifer Jasper, who averages 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Gabrielle Rodriguez has 9.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest, while Maya Arellanes (5.3 points, 2.5 rebounds) is the only other Argo to start all six games.
