Pacific Women's Hoops Welcomes Back UC Davis Monday
University of the Pacific women's basketball team re-unites with old Big West rival UC Davis 7 p.m. Monday night at the Alex G. Spanos Center for a non- West Coast Conference game.
The Tigers will look to remain unbeaten after a 95-65 win in the season opener against Cal State Stanislaus on Friday.
Junior Kendall Kenyon posted career highs with 27 points and 24 rebounds in the 30-point victory, while sophomore guard Erin Butler scored 12 points in her Tiger debut, hitting four-of-six from three-point range. Junior guard Madison Parrish added 10 points and six assists, while senior guard Sam Pettinger added 10 points and six boards.
The Tigers are 11-12 all-time against UC Davis. The Tigers swept the season-series last season, clinching the Tigers' first Big West title on the Aggies home court in the regular season finale last year. Pacific won 78-64, at the Spanos Center last season, as Kenyon shot 9-of-11 from the field for a game-high 19 points. Pacific then held on for a 59-54 win at the Pavilion in the final game of the regular season to finish Big West play 14-4 and lock up the top seed in the Tigers' final Big West Tournament.
UC Davis (0-1) finished 12-18 last year, and 7-11 in Big West play. The Aggies are coming off a season-opening loss to USC at home on Friday, as the Trojans topped the Aggies, 64-55. Aggies junior Kelsey Harris finished with a team-high 14 points, in her debut after joining UC Davis from Iowa State. Sophomore Molly Greubel added 10 points.
Following Monday's contest, Pacific will head to New York, to face Iona (4 p.m., Friday) and Fordham (11 a.m. Sunday).
