United Way Campaign Kicks Off for 2013-14

Nov 18, 2013

I am pleased that President Eibeck has asked me to chair our United Way Campaign this year at Pacific. Never has the need been greater for this community, and I hope you will help with any of the many agencies which support those in need.

Our goal this year is 45% Participation and a Total Donation of $120,000. Your contribution can be in any amount, and every bit helps nonprofits in our local Stockton community and surrounding areas!  Any 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization can be designated and your donation will go to that organization. If you already donate to a favorite charity, please consider making your donation through the United Way Campus Campaign. Donations can be made as a one-time gift or through a monthly pledge.

In support of our United Way Campus Campaign, the University has provided items for our "Incentive Program".  The following are highlights of this year's campaign:

  • Participate in the Early Bird Drawing by completing and returning your pledge form by December 1st to be eligible to win an "A" Parking Pass for 2014-2015.
  • First time United Way givers are eligible to win an "A" Parking Pass for 2014-2015.
  • Anyone who gives as part of our campaign will be eligible to win a "B" parking Pass for 2014-2015.
  • Also NEW THIS YEAR, thanks to a generous donation by Lynn King, assistant vice president for Student Life, anyone who turns in their gift forms by Dec. 16 will be eligible for a drawing for a San Francisco 49er's Football, signed by Starting Quarterback, #7 Colin Kaepernick

You should be receiving your information packet, pledge form and return envelope from your department's campaign coordinator. It includes information on some of the organizations supported by United Way and answers to frequently asked questions. (see list of coordinators below) Please take time to review your materials and complete your pledge form and return it right away!

Help us continue to demonstrate to our community that Pacific knows the importance of giving. Please contact your department's United Way coordinator or call me at 209.946.2753 if you have any questions. Thank you for your support of this very important effort where everyone in our community benefits!
