No. 3 Pacific Men's Water Polo Rolls Against No. 10 Waves, 21-6

The No. 3 Pacific men's water polo team took out its frustration from falling into the consolation bracket on No. 10 Pepperdine Sunday morning with a 21-6 victory at the NorCal Tournament.

Senior Goran Tomasevic and sophomore Kristian Laczkovics each posted four goals for Pacific.

The Tigers will face UC Santa Barbara in the fifth place game at 3:25 pm

Pacific (8-1) jumped picked up three goals in the first quarter as junior Alex Obert, senior Balazs Szabo and senior Balazs Erdelyi gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead after one period.

The Tigers blitz the Waves in the second quarter, outscoring Pepperdine 8-1 in the frame for an 11-2 lead at halftime. Tomasevic and senior Kevin Oliveira each tallied twice in the quarter, with Kristian Laczkovics, Andres Oneto, Balazs Szabo and Casey Fleming all finding the back of the net.

Pacific pitched a shutout in the third quarter, stretching the lead to 17-2 before coasting home with the 21-6 victory. Sophomore Aleksandar Petrovic picked up two goals in the final two quarters, while Erdelyi, Szabo, and freshman Ben Stevenson each tacked a goal.

Junior Chris Hughes got the start in goal for the Tigers and recorded seven saves.

The Tigers' final game of the NorCal Tournament, to decide fifth place, will be at Cal's Spieker Pool.
