Open meetings held on preliminary administrative recommendations

Sep 9, 2013

University of the Pacific's Focusing on Our Future, the University-wide initiative to focus and align Pacific's programs, continued last week with a series of open divisional meetings to discuss preliminary administrative recommendations.

Video of the meetings and the Aug. 29 President's Town Hall can be found on the Focusing on Our Future tab of insidePacific.

The recommendations, timetables, feedback form and other information are available on the Focusing on Our Future website.

So far, the recommendation that has stirred the most interest calls for discontinuing the men's volleyball program after the 2014 season. That and all of the other recommendations are preliminary. After receiving public comment, the Provost and vice presidents will adjust their preliminary recommendations and submit them to an expanded President's Advisory Council (PAC+). The council will review the recommendations further with the participation of additional faculty, staff and student members. All recommendations will go to President Pamela A. Eibeck on Sept. 20 for her review.

Between Sept. 23 and Sept. 27, President Eibeck will solicit additional community input. She plans to issue her final decisions regarding administrative and three-city programs during the week of Oct. 7, after briefing the Board of Regents.
