Pacific Flu Vaccination Clinics Slated

Sep 16, 2013

Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Pacific Health Services have scheduled two more influenza vaccination clinics to help faculty, students and staff stay healthy through the cold and flu season.

The clinics are:

  • Noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Alex and Jeri Vereschagin Alumni House
  • 3-6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Grace Covell Dining Hall

Getting an annual flu vaccination is an effective way to prevent influenza. The virus that causes flu exists in several strains, and researchers strive to match the vaccine to the strains most prevalent. The vaccine can help make it less likely that the virus will spread to others.

This vaccination for medical benefit eligible employees is sponsored by Human Resources and a covered benefit for students with student insurance. (The cost is $20 for employees not eligible for medical benefits and students with outside insurance.)

Pregnant women should contact their OB/GYN physician regarding vaccinations.

Please stop by if possible. Get the shot; not the flu.
