Professor Caroline Cox has joined the Provost's Office team and will be working on special projects. Her first project to develop a faculty workload policy began in January. Development of this policy is a requirement for the University's interim report for WASC next spring.
Sherry Haley has transferred to the position of administrative assistant II in the College of the Pacific Dean's Office.
Steven Harvath has transferred to the position of director of Coop Education in the School of Engineering and Computer Sciences.
Debbie Johnston has been promoted to operations manager in the University Library.
Cari Keller has been promoted to Human Resources analyst in Human Resources.
Natalie Loschke, who has been serving in the capacity of manager of Pacific Fund operations since Jan. 2012, has been promoted to the position of assistant director of Annual Giving operations.
Susan Soderstrom, executive director of Advancement Services, retired effective Jan. 31. She led the Advancement Services and Research team since Nov. 2008 and enhanced operational efficiencies in the AS&R offices and strengthened data systems during her five-year tenure. She and her husband Chuck plan to enjoy retirement together on the coast of Northern California.

Realigning of Vice Provost position:
The Vice Provost position that was vacated last May has been reconfigured to align with Pacific 2020. A search for a Vice Provost for Distributed Learning and Instructional Technology (VPDL) will begin soon. The individual in this position will collaborate with multiple constituencies to develop and implement plans to advance distance learning and branch campus expansion consistent with the mission, vision and strategic priorities of the University and to oversee the development and implementation of a coordinated and distributed technology support system for all modes of instruction. The VPDL will work closely with Information Technology Services, Enrollment Management, Business and Finance, Student Life, and other offices across the University to ensure students and faculty have exceptional services, regardless of their location. The VPDL will have oversight of the Center for Professional and Continuing Education and the Center for Teaching and Learning.
