Brubeck Commons Apartment Complex Being Constructed on Dave Brubeck WayThe 20-unit complex, a privately owned project headed by Pacific Regent Barry Ruhl, will be available only to Pacific students
Demolition was completed over the holiday break to make room for a new 20-unit apartment building on Dave Brubeck Way, across the street from the Stockton campus.
The private development is on privately owned property on the south side of Dave Brubeck Way. Dubbed Brubeck Commons, the building is expected to be ready for occupancy by mid-August. The apartments will be available exclusively to University of the Pacific students. They are expected to house about 80 students.
The development is a project of Brubeck Commons LLC, and is being headed by Barry Ruhl, a Pacific Regent. The three apartment buildings that had been on the site were torn down because they had fallen into disrepair.
Slab work for the project is expected to be completed by Feb. 1 with framing completed by Feb. 28.
