Conservatory Alumna Elected to Leadership in the American Music Therapy Association
On Monday, January 6th, the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) announced that Jennifer Geiger has been elected by their membership to the Board of Directors as President-Elect. She will serve two years each as President-Elect, President, and Past President.
Jennifer is a graduate of Willamette University (BM, 1993) and University of the Pacific (MA, Conservatory of Music, 1998) where she was a graduate assistant. She completed her music therapy internship at Philhaven Hospital in Mt. Gretna, PA and was Board Certified by the Certification Board for Music Therapists in 1995. Jennifer has served in many volunteer and leadership roles both regionally and nationally. She is sole proprietor of Geiger Consulting Music Therapy Services, a private practice providing quality, interactive music therapy services to older adults. She has served University of the Pacific as a fieldwork supervisor ('94-'98; 2003-present) and as a guest lecturer (since 2007). Jennifer is a regular presenter at regional and national music therapy conferences and will return to the University of the Pacific campus March 21, 2014 to celebrate 75 years of Music Therapy at Pacific during the Conservatory of Music's celebratory symposium.
