New malware/virus protection
University of the Pacific will be implementing an additional malware/virus protection system beginning Wednesday, March 19. This will help protect your computer from malicious downloads and attacks. If the system detects an attack or suspicious download you will see the popup message:
"The file you were attempting to access/download has been determined to contain malware and has been blocked and no further action is required by you. If you feel that you've received this message in error, please contact your Technical Support Provider for help."
If you believe it was blocked in error please contact your local Technical Support Provider for help and advice.
The process for handling a False Positive report is:
- CSC/TSPs notified of possible false positive by customer
- Ticket assigned to Security to assess threat or confirm false positive
- If changes to firewall are required, ticket assigned to NES to effect change
- Ticket reassigned to CSC/TSP for customer notification
