Bill Johnson appointed Associate Vice President for Development
Bill Johnson, director of global initiatives and development for the School of Management at University of San Francisco (USF), was appointed associate vice president for development for the division of Development and Alumni Relations. He began in the new position Wednesday, August 6. As associate vice president, Johnson will be responsible for all Stockton-based school development efforts.
"I am very pleased to have Bill Johnson join our team as the associate vice president of development. Bill brings a wealth of experience from some of the nation's top institutions," said Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations Burnie Atterbury.
Johnson recently completed four years at USF where he led successful development efforts in global initiatives, major gifts and parent giving. Before transitioning to fundraising roles, Johnson held collegiate basketball coaching positions for University of Nebraska, Columbia University, Casper College and USF. As a coach, he began to take on fundraising activities and then moved into athletic development and then into fundraising for broader university and development fundraising initiatives with Harvard, Georgetown and USF.
He holds a bachelor's in education and a master's in education administration/athletic administration from University of Nebraska, along with a certificate from the Harvard University Administrative Fellows Program. Johnson and his wife, Casey, have three children Grace (12), Jack (5) and Adam (2).
