2015 Zeiter Piano Competition

Jan 16, 2015

The 2015 Henry and Carol Zeiter Piano Competition will take place beginning at 9am on Saturday, January 17th in the Recital Hall at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music. 17 high school students from across California were selected to participate from a diverse and talented pool of applicants.  The retirement of Dr. Rex Cooper from Pacific's faculty brings a new face to the judge's table this year. Professor Frank Wiens, Pacific's Piano Program Director and Director of the competition, is happy to report Dr. Sarah Chan is that new face.  Dr. Chan is the Coordinator of Keyboard Studies at California State University Stanislaus.  The final judge will once again be Dr. Sonia Leong.  Dr. Leong has taught at Pacific for over ten years and continues to be a valuable part of the piano program.  This piano competition is supported by a generous gift from Henry and Carol Zeiter.  Their love of music and support of young pianists has helped the competition grow into a premier event for aspiring musicians throughout California. If you would like to attend the Zeiter Piano Competition tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.
