Advisory: Summer construction projects on Stockton campus

Jun 29, 2015

A number of summer construction and improvement projects for roads and sidewalks will be going on during July and August on the Stockton campus that may impact building access and/or vehicle or pedestrian transit in and around the campus.  These ADA improvements will bring areas into compliance with present day codes and, more importantly, improve campus accessibility. As part of the process, a number of potential trip hazards will be eliminated.

Intersection of Atchley and Chapel Way
Starting Saturday July 18, the southeast corner of the intersection of Atchley Way and Chapel Lane is scheduled for a sidewalk/area improvement. The project is expected to be complete by August 7.

Morris Chapel and Grace Covell Hall
Between July 13 and July 31, the walkways between the Chapel and the southeast corner of Grace Covell will be replaced.

Recital and Rehearsal halls
Between July 20 and July 30, several walkways will be replaced between the Recital and Rehearsal halls, along with the front doors to the Rehearsal Hall. Landscape repairs will be accomplished after that. In partnership with the Conservatory of Music, Physical Plant will also install PacificCard access on the new door to the Rehearsal Hall as a safety improvement. Through partnerships with various units, Physical Plant has been able to install card access on 25 doors around campus since 2008.

Theatre Arts
Sidewalk improvement on the west side of the Theatre Arts building is scheduled for late July to early August.
