Summer Hours reminder

Jun 5, 2015

As announced by President Eibeck in a March Memo, summer 2015 is the last year the University will observe "summer hours."  A broader WorkFlex Policy has been drafted by a three-city committee and is being reviewed by the University Community with a goal to roll out and implement the final policy early this fall.

2015 Summer Hours:

From June 1-July 31, 2015, the Stockton campus will be open from 7:30 am-4pm, Monday through Friday. Offices can close at 1 pm on Friday, or stay open with minimal coverage until 4pm on Friday, with Vice Presidential permission.

For most non-exempt staff observing summer hours, work hours will be Monday-Thursday 7:30-4 with a 30-minute lunch break and Friday 7:30-1 with no lunch break. Exempt staff can also adjust their summer schedules with supervisors' approval. By now your division's Vice President and leadership team has notified you if and  how your division would implement summer hours, including paperwork that non-exempt staff will need to complete for the Friday 7:30-1 schedule.

Regular business hours will resume in Stockton on August 3, 2015

Since summer hours practices at McGeorge School of Law differ significantly due to their evening programs, Dean Mootz has communicated separately about summer hours with law school staff. The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry does not alter their hours in the summer due to its year-round schedule.

For offices observing summer hours, we ask that you ensure office hours are clearly posted for both the University community and external clients (community visitors, students, parents, alumni and donors), including updated phone messages and out of office replies where appropriate.

Thank you to all our staff for your commitment to Pacific and your hard work on behalf of our students. Both are critical for our success.
