Chris KrzakAssistant vice provost and director of admission appointed
Chris Krzak has been appointed assistant vice provost and director of admission, effective Jan. 17, 2017. Krzak joins Pacific from University of La Verne, where he served as Dean of Admission for 10 years. Under his leadership, freshman enrollment more than doubled and was accompanied by increases in SAT and GPA averages. Transfer and graduate enrollments also increased significantly during his time at La Verne. Read more>>  

Interim dean for Eberhardt School of Business
David Dauwalder has been appointed interim dean of the Eberhardt School of Business, effective Jan. 9, 2017. Dauwalder will provide continued leadership for the Eberhardt School of Business when Lewis Gale steps down from his position as dean at the end of this semester. Dean Gale will return to faculty in fall 2017 after a spring semester sabbatical. Dauwalder was executive vice president and provost and interim president at Woodbury University in Southern California where he served from 2013 until June of this year. Prior to Woodbury, he was provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at University of New Haven in Connecticut, and provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at California State University, Stanislaus. Cynthia Wagner WeickCyntha Wagner Weick, director of the Powell Scholars Program and professor of management in the Eberhardt School of Business, has announced that she will retire from her position at Pacific at the end of the academic year. Weick has achieved an extensive record of service and accomplishments during her 26 years of service at Pacific. She joined the faculty of the Eberhardt School of Business in 1990.  She has been recognized numerous times for her teaching and scholarship, including the Eberhardt Teacher-Scholar Award (1996) and the Distinguished Faculty Award (2005), and held the Neven C. Hulsey Chair in Business Excellence from 2006 to 2009. Weick has served as the founding director of the Powell Scholars Program since 2009, shepherding more than 100 alumni and current students since its launch, and currently holds a joint appointment in the School of Engineering and Computer Science. Viviana Castellanos is a new administrative assistant in Academic Affairs at the San Francisco Campus.  

Stacie Eiras is a new program services coordinator for Food Studies, providing Stockton Campus support for the San Francisco-based Food Studies Program.    

Michele Gibney is a new digital repository coordinator in the University Library.

Casey Heinzen is the new assistant director for public policy programs in the McGeorge School of Law.   

Dua Her '09 has been promoted to director of external relations and professional development in the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, filling the position vacated by Sarah Higgins in July. Her earned a bachelor of science in business administration from the Eberhardt School of Business and worked as a student worker in the SUCCESS program in 2007. She was hired as an administrative assistant in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2009. Since then she has served in various capacities, including technical support specialist and marketing communications assistant and became marketing coordinator in 2015.  

Elizabeth Hernandez is a new receptionist in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry in the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.   

Olufunmilayo Huntar is a new international student scholar advisor in International Programs and Services.   

Michael Machado was promoted to the position of consultant for Focused Decisions in the Institute Administrative Justice in the McGeorge School of Law.  

Lacey Mickleburgh is a clinical legal fellow for clinical programs in the McGeorge School of Law.  

Joshua Salyers is the new digital curator for the digital repository in the University Library.   

Griffin Talan is a new research assistant in the Auditory Electrophysiology research lab in the San Francisco Campus Audiology Clinic.   

Patrick Wolak has been promoted and transferred to the position of international student school advisor in International Programs and Services.  

SEARCH UPDATES

  • Registrar This search committee is chaired by Ryan Griffith, director of International Programs and Services. The search committee hopes to announce an appointment by end of the fall term.
  • Dean, McGeorge School of Law This search committee is chaired by Phil Oppenheimer, dean of the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and co-chaired by Julie Davies, professor of Law. On-campus interviews are ongoing, with the third candidate scheduled for Dec. 12-14.   • Dean, Conservatory of Music This search committee is chaired by Rena Fraden, dean of the College of the Pacific. The committee is reviewing candidates to invite for on-campus interviews in January.  

PROVOST SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

The Provost invites applications for the following positions to begin in late spring 2017 or early academic year 2017-18.  These openings have become available either to replace departing incumbents, replacement of interim personnel on a permanent basis or due to an increase in responsibility pursuant to the Strategic Enrollment Plan.

Development

Sally Cebreros"Sally" Cebreros returns to McGeorge School of Law as the new director of development for the school, effective Dec. 12. Cebreros has served as the executive director of annual giving in university development for the past year and director of annual giving for two years prior. Before that she was annual giving manager at McGeorge for more than 10 years, originally joining the McGeorge staff in 1991. During her three years of leadership for university-wide annual giving efforts she expanded online outreach through the implementation of crowdfunding tools and the recently completed launch of Pacific's inaugural online Big Day of Giving. She helped expand and integrate annual giving through multi-channel outreach via mail, phone, email, online and social media outreach and appeals.  In her new role, Cebreros will be a critical part of the development team raising funds to support the McGeorge School of Law, reporting to Mindy Danovaro, assistant dean for development.  

Business and Finance

Taylor Campbell has been promoted to human resources specialist in Human Resources.

Elizabeth Ledesma has been promoted to payroll manager in Payroll.

Inez Reed is a new senior buyer in the Controller's Office.

Konghmong Vang is a new groundskeeper, group I, in Support Services.  

Pacific Technology

Brandon Caruthers has been promoted to technical support specialist II in the Customer Support Center.  

David Wallace is a new information security analyst I.   

Student Life

Ashton Ricketts is a new coordinator of student advising in New Student and Family Programs.   

Athletics

Nicholas Petrone is the new director of athletic media relations. He serves as the primary contact for men's basketball, volleyball, men's and women's tennis and women's track and field. Petrone has a decade of experience in the media relations field at the collegiate level and is proficient in graphic design, website maintenance, statistic keeping, journalism, videography, photography and social media. Petrone garnered three Publication and Media Contest awards in 2015 and six in 2014 in the NAIA Sports Information Directors of America (NAIA-SIDA) competitions. Before joining the Tigers, Petrone served as the Jacksonville University associate director of athletic media relations.
