January is Goal Setting and Weight Management Month

Jan 14, 2016

The New Year is a time to reflect on the past year, refresh your outlook on life and make lifestyle changes.

Each New Year, we make a variety of resolutions hoping to start the new year off on the right track. While we have the best intentions to follow through, it doesn't always work out.  Sometimes having too many resolutions can just be overwhelming. Setting small, attainable goals and taking them one step at a time with a positive attitude will give you the best opportunity at success.

Here are a few tips to help you keep your New Year's resolutions:

1.     Start small - set small realistic resolutions.
2.     Change one behavior at a time - don't overwhelm yourself.
3.     Talk with someone about it - share your plans with friends and family or join a support group.
4.     Don't beat yourself up - missteps are bound to happen; forgive yourself and pick right back up again to get back on track.
5.     Ask for support - don't hesitate to ask your friends and family for help and support. Here's to a healthy New Year and a healthy new you!
