Renovations in Casa Jackson will provide new living-learning space for international students

Jul 12, 2016

In early June, Residential Life and Housing began the process of renovating the first floor of the Casa Jackson residence hall to support the newly created International House.

International House will provide a specialized residential space for international students and domestic first-year students seeking a global living-learning environment. The first floor, which originally contained a community lounge and residential rooms, will be transformed to create new spaces, including two fully accessible rooms with bathroom spaces, a fully furnished community kitchen, enhanced study rooms and a multifaith prayer room.

Casa Jackson will be off-line throughout the renovation period. Construction is planned to be completed in time for student occupancy in fall 2016.

Architectural design for the project was provided by WMB Architects. Mid-Cal Constructors of Stockton is performing the work.
