Lewis Gale Stepping Down as Dean
Provost Pallavicini has announced that Lewis Gale, Dean of the Eberhardt School of Business, will step down from his administrative role at the end of the fall term. He will take a sabbatical in the spring and return to teaching in fall 2017.
Dean Gale has led the School of Business since 2010, when he joined Pacific from Weber State University. Under his leadership, the School of Business achieved AACSB reaccreditation, implemented a new dual degree program in accounting that met job market demands and brought new revenue to the University, launched a part-time MBA program in Sacramento, and increased philanthropy.
Provost Pallavicini expressed her appreciation for Dean Gale's years of leadership, his service on numerous University committees and his outstanding representation of the School of Business and Pacific to its alumni, stakeholders, and community, stating "Lewis' commitment to the Eberhardt School of Business and his passion for Pacific are at the heart of his leadership. I truly appreciate the insights he has shared with his dean colleagues and leadership that have led to improvements at School of Business and the University."
Staff and faculty are invited to attend a reception on Monday, December 12, to express their appreciation to Dean Gale.
To provide continued leadership in the Eberhardt School of Business, the Provost has named an interim dean who will serve for an 18-month term during which a nationwide search will be conducted for a new dean.
