Strategic Planning Update - Pacific 2020 Refresh

Office of the ProvostSep 14, 2016

This fall, Pacific will be undertaking a "refresh" of Pacific 2020, the University's Strategic Plan, to focus on a set of emerging priorities that will chart a course for University of the Pacific to become a leading California university preparing graduates for meaningful lives and successful careers.

The four strategies identified in Pacific 2020 have guided the hard work of the last four years. During that time, Pacific has focused these broad strategies into five thematic areas of work that we define as our annual priorities. These priorities and their associated initiatives have allowed Pacific to tackle the most critical areas needed to advance as quickly as possible.

The "refresh" of Pacific 2020, referred to as Pacific 2025, began in June when members of faculty and shared governance committees, the President, Provost and Cabinet attended a University Leadership Retreat at which priorities emerged. The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) is the main body responsible for developing the refreshed strategic plan for approval by President Eibeck and the Board of Regents.

Throughout this process, the SPC will consult with members of the University community, shared governance groups, and faculty, staff and students through open campus conversations, and seek feedback through a Pacific 2025 portal on Pacific's website. Look for more details on the Pacific 2020 refresh coming in next week's Pacific Insider.
