Video: 7th annual Christmas lecture was a blast

Dec 9, 2017

Pacific faculty members Balint Sztarary and Liang Xue presented the 7th Annual Faraday Christmas Lecture at University of the Pacific in Stockton. The annual Faraday Lecture featured the chemistry professors dressed as 19th century chemists, carrying out experiments that delighted audiences of all ages. The tradition comes from the Royal Institution of Great Britain's Christmas Lecture, which has offered a science lecture to children in the London community since 1825. The famous scientist Michael Faraday presented more of these lectures than any of his contemporaries, and the series was eventually named after him. The annual lecture pays homage to Faraday while also entertaining Stockton youth and teaching them about chemistry.
