Commencement week parking and traffic advisory

May 8, 2017

The All-university Commencement ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, along with diploma and hooding ceremonies throughout the afternoon for College of the Pacific, Gladys L. Benerd School of Education, the Conservatory of Music, Eberhardt School of Business, the School of Engineering and Computer Science and the School of International Studies.

Some of the set-up will impact parking this week. Beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, until noon on Monday, May 15, parking spaces will be blocked off on the south side of Lot 2 (adjacent to Larry Heller Drive) near Kjeldsen Pool to make room for food service vendors working during Commencement weekend.

Commencement Parking and Shuttles
On Saturday, May 13, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. parking lot 3, located off Mendocino Ave. south of the Pacific Intercollegiate Athletics Center, will be set aside for reserved parking for visiting dignitaries, reserved parking pass holders, administration, faculty and staff participating in Commencement, and student Ambassadors and sign language interpreters who are working during Commencement.

Be aware of additional traffic entering and leaving campus for Commencement ceremonies throughout the day Saturday. There will be nine shuttle buses driving a route around the campus from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. providing complimentary service to all attending Commencement. Two additional shuttle buses will operate until 7 p.m. Parking will be available throughout the campus, including at the Pharmacy and Health Sciences campus off Brookside Road. Additional overflow parking will be available at the Central Methodist Church opposite the university at 3700 Pacific Ave.
