Benefits update: Medical and Vision premiums to appear as separate payroll deductions

Beginning with the 2018 plan year, payroll deductions for medical and vision plan premiums will be listed as separate line items on paycheck stubs. This change will happen automatically for all employees enrolled in medical and vision benefits on Jan. 1, 2018, and will appear on the first paycheck of 2018. For 2018 there is NO premium change for vision.

This change will enable employees to see the premium cost of each benefit and will better facilitate internal accounting of benefits. Medical and Vision coverage are bundled benefits that cannot be elected separately. 

Exception: If you are enrolled in the Kaiser High Deductible plan w/HSA as a full-time employee, you will NOT see a premium for your vision plan (VSP).
