Recent Administrative Organizational Changes

In the offices of Enrollment Management, Provost, and Planning and Institutional Research

Student success is at the core of our mission and a main thrust of Pacific 2020R, the university's refreshed strategic plan. President Pamela Eibeck and Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Maria Pallavicini recently made several organizational changes in the offices of Enrollment Management, Provost, and Planning and Institutional Research to better align our administrative functions to support student success and to build a more efficient and unified university.

The following organizational administrative changes reflect an intensified focus on admissions and financial aid, the integration of services to support undergraduate and graduate students, and the restructuring of the office of institutional planning. These changes will to help ensure that we have robust enrollments, are well positioned to support our prospective and returning students and operating effectively and efficiently.

  • Enrollment Management, which reports to the President, is focused on areas that directly impact the recruitment, admission, and financial aid needs of undergraduate students
    • Dave Voskuil, our Interim Vice President for Enrollment Management, now oversees the offices of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid. We will soon begin a nationwide search for a new Vice President for Enrollment Management.
  • The offices of the Registrar and Summer Session, and the leadership for the CRM (constituent relationship management) platform (Salesforce), have moved to the Academic Division to align more closely with initiatives that provide undergraduate and graduate student support services and ultimately enhance student success. 
    • Elisa Anders, formerly in Enrollment Management, has been appointed Associate Provost and will provide oversight of these areas, reporting directly to the Provost. 
  • We continue to centralize university marketing and communications across the university, which supports our initiative to develop and promote a unified identity. Centralization will ensure that the university coordinates its marketing and communications efforts, that we reinforce consistent messages, and that we portray a strong, impactful brand to our internal and external audiences. 
    • As part of this centralization process, the Tiger Creative  team formerly under Enrollment Management now reports to Marge Grey, Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications, with dotted line reporting to Dave Voskuil.  The team will continue to support enrollment and new academic program marketing.
  • In January, we reorganized the Office of Planning and Institutional Research.  While the work remains institutional in scope, the planning and IR is now organized within the office of the Provost to bring better alignment with university strategic planning and closer integration with the Academic Division. This decision followed a careful assessment of how best to meet the strategic needs of the university, and how to support the implementation of the initiatives in Pacific 2020R:
    • Mike Rogers has been appointed Associate Provost for Institutional Research and Decision Support, reporting directly to the Provost. In this role, he will provide integrated research, data analysis and evidence-based decision support to the Office of the Provost.
    • Elisa Anders will provide university-wide leadership for tracking the implementation of the university's strategic plan, Pacific 2020R and institutional planning efforts
    • Jared Gaynor, Chief of Staff to the Provost, will now coordinate the submission and retention of administrative annual reports and will oversee the administrative program review process.

Pacific must continue to adapt to a dynamic environment and build on its strength and reputation as a highly sought-after institution. Our university, like all of private higher education, must demonstrate real value for the investment students and families are making. We have highly talented people with tremendous potential and we are excited about the opportunities ahead of us. These changes will help position us for a strong future.
