Submitting Items to E-News

E-News submissions are due by 3:00 p.m. the day before you want your item released. E-News items can be submitted two ways:

1) The full text of the proposed item and (if possible) a photo that illustrates what the item is about can be emailed to enews@pacific.edu.

2) Those with access to the CMS can also create their own E-news directly by logging in to the CMS, creating a "News Detail" page and categorizing it as "Campus Announcements." Once the author has completed the approval workflow and the page is published, the story automatically appears on the Campus Announcements page. This is the page Communications uses to compile E-news.

In order to appear in E-news, the items must meet the following conditions:

All items submitted must be brief, and concise

Material must contain the following information:

  • Who, What, Where, When, and Why
  • Costs, Location, a brief description of the topic you are discussing in the release
  • Include any instructions to the campus community, a contact name and phone number
  • University specific: Sponsored by or is an organization who is a member of University of the Pacific's community. The university organization cannot act as a proxy for another, off-campus organization.  Also, E-News submitted to enews@pacific.edu must come from a pacific.edu email account.
  • Suitable for publication. If your item is not accepted, the editor will email you and identify the reason for the rejection.  Items may be edited for brevity, grammar, and suitability.  An item is unsuitable if it's in conflict with University of the Pacific policy.
  • Events can be rejected if they are deemed to be inappropriate, are not sponsored by University of the Pacific, are third-party private events that do not have anything to do with the University's mission, advocate or promote illegal activities, have incomplete information, or are in conflict with a University policy. Employees in the Office of Communications have the sole discretion on determining which events to approve.
