1st Annual Creative Writing Conference

 

 Join us for an information packed three-day conference on Creative Writing at the University of the Pacific's beautiful main campus at the Benerd School of Education June 14-16, followed by an optional week-long class/workshop, Monday, June 17 - Thursday, June 20, 6-9:30 p.m. (map)

Interactive workshops and presentations will cover all aspects and genres of creative writing, from brainstorming techniques to submitting work for publication, writing creative nonfiction articles for publication to writing children's books, murder mysteries, science fiction, and westerns.

The Keynote Address "Twenty Years to Overnight Success," will be given by New York Times best-selling author John Lescroart.
"John Lescroart is a New York Times bestselling author of nineteen novels, including most recently BETRAYAL, which is the fourteenth book in the San Francisco based Dismas Hardy/Abe Glitsky series, a stand-alone Wyatt Hunt novel entitled THE HUNT CLUB and a couple of Sherlock Holmes pastiches: SON OF HOLMES and its sequel, RASPUTIN'S REVENGE. His books have been translated into seventeen languages in more than seventy-five countries, and his short stories have been included in many anthologies."

This conference is a collaboration of the Benerd School of Education, the Center for Professional & Continuing Education and the College of the Pacific's Department of English.
