Save the date for the California History Institute John Muir Symposium
March 23-24, 2018

Join us next spring as we mark the 150th anniversary of John Muir's first trek into Yosemite.

As we celebrate John Muir, the naturalist, we will also explore other facets of his life. Muir was an inventor, a businessman, an orchardist and dedicated "saunterer."

"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."

Past symposiums have included talks with Muir scholars and field trips to significant places such as the John Muir National Historic Site in Martinez and the John Muir Geotourism Center in Coulterville. Check back to see what next spring's symposium will hold.
