Career Paths

Students that engage in programs offered by the Biology Department have the flexibility to pursue careers or advanced degrees in molecular and cellular biology, genetics, biochemistry, botany, microbiology, physiology or zoology. Some students pursue jobs in biotechnology, education, marketing and sales, among other fields. Programs in the department also prepare students for health-based professional programs such as dentistry, pharmacy, medicine, physical therapy, nursing, veterinary, teaching, biotechnology and medical technology.

Our department prepares a large number of pre-professional students for entry into the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, as well as the University of the Pacific Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Pacific Biology graduates have the flexibility to obtain a higher educational degree, including M.S., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., and Ph.D. Recent graduates are enrolled in programs at institutions around the world, including:
