Dale McNeal (Ph.D., Washington State University), Emeritus Professor
I received My AB degree in Botany from The Colorado College, following which I completed an MS at the State University of New York, College of Forestry (now the College of Environmental Science and Forestry) at Syracuse University. After a tour of duty with the Army, I returned to school and completed a PhD in Botany at Washington State University
I am an avid gardener in my spare time and very much enjoy a day in the field collecting and studying the California Flora. I am also interested in SCUBA diving, have been certified since 1976 and enjoy diving regularly. I am currently the editor for the several families that have been carved out of the Lily family (Liliaceae) for the next edition of The Jepson Manual, Higher Plants of California and have a continuing interest in research on this group of families.
