Hydrogeology and Soils Laboratory
The hydrogeology and soils laboratory is home to a variety of field (in situ measurements and sample collection) and analytical (physical and geochemical analyses) equipment used in the study of water and soils.
The equipment supports student and/or faculty research projects and course-related activities.
The hydrogeology and soils lab is often used by students in Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Environmental Science, and numerous general education courses.
The hydrogeology and soils lab includes:
- Dionex dual ICS 1000
- OI Analytical Aurora 1030 TOC
- 2 Dell computers
- Millipore Elix / Gradient water purification systems
- Analytical balances
- Soils moisture probes
- LaCrosse Weather station
- Mini meteorological station
- Velocity meter
- Solinst water level measuring tape
- Sieves
- A variety of test kits and field meters / probes
This lab was partially funded by a grant from the W. M. Keck Foundation.
Students must have permission from a faculty member to use this facility and equipment may not be used without prior care and safety instruction.
